Cute Lil' Pumpkin
Before Zoë was born, we were loaned a box full of girl clothes, including this pumpkin costume. Can you believe that it just happened to be her perfect size almost six months later? Just in time for Halloween to show our lil' pumpkin off at our church's "Trunk or Treat."Definitely the cutest pumpkin I've ever seen!

The Great Northern Getaway
This past weekend we were able to take a short trip up to northern Michigan with Grandma Didi and Auntie Judy. We stayed by the Lake in Charlevoix and spent a cold and blustery (but fun!) day on Mackinac Island.
Zoë's first ferry ride! Q-u-i-t-e exciting. We caught a little air going over those big waves. Daddy wasn't so thrilled...
...but we made it. Scarves and all.
All bundled up and ready to ride
One of the neat things about Mackinac Island is that motor vehicles are not an acceptable mode of transportation, so bikes and horses rule the roadway. The other neat thing about the Island is that there are 15 fudge shops downtown. Yum!
So beautiful!
Ready for our tour on a horse-drawn carriage
Zoë checkin' out the horsies
Hanging out under Arch Rock
Family photo time!
After a long day, our little explorer was
all tuckered out. Time to go!
Back in Charlevoix with cool matching
sweatshirts as a nice souvenir.

"I am 5 months going on 9 months..."
Happy 5 months to our baby girl who is getting so big! At her last appointment on September 20th, she weighed 14 lbs and was 26 1/2 inches long. Her long legs and torso are helping her skip over most of her 6 month clothes and go straight to 9 month! Check out this adorable 9 month tu-tu for example - I put it on today and it is almost too small...but still cute as all get out.
This past month of her life, Zoë has continued to experiment with all sorts of sounds. Her current favorite is the trumpet buzz. She also reaches out and grabs anything and everything she can get her hands on, including my glasses and a part of my brat bun at dinner last night.
Giggles are the best part of each day for both Zoë and her parents, and mommy and daddy try all sorts of craziness to get her laughing up a storm. This past month has been better for us too, as Zoë is sleeping an average of 9 hours per night with little to no interruption. Yay!

Apple Picking Adventure
It was an absolutely beautiful day and she had a great time picking with momma - although picking is a lot harder when you can't get too close to the tree!
