My family loves to camp. Some of my favorite childhood memories are from the many camping trips we took during the summers and the big Farner/Butcher camping reunions. Since college and marriage, I have missed a few Farner camp outs, and it was so fun to be able to be together again with my own little family!
A true outdoors woman: always wants to be outside, collecting
rocks and sticks, and loves playing in the dirt!
Zoë's own keys and cute pink "P" keyring from Lola! :)
Chillin' by the campfire with Auntie Heidi in Rachel's "Hello Kitty"
chair that she got when she was 2.Rachel was so kind as to
pass her chair on to Zoë and oh, does she love it!
"Again! Again! Again!"
Good thing Uncle Corby has strong arms :)
Playing games with Oma - after all these years, she still has a way with babies :)
Zoë's crazy 1st-cousins-once-removed
It was so fun for me to be able to watch them play with Zoë in
the same way that I played with them when they were little tots!
Corby and Mary got a double hammock as a wedding gift and shared the fun
with everyone (though Zoë was not in the best of moods for her turn)
Zoë was an all-star camper! She took naps in the Ergo baby carrier and slept nearly 12 hours straight the first night in the tent and 10 hours the second. That morning Zoë and I had some nice quiet time together by the campfire while everyone else was still sleeping...and then Zoë was asleep again by the time breakfast came around. :) We had a nice campground on Devil's Lake, within walking distance to both the lake and the beach.
While the normal Oregon Coast experience is cloudy, chilly and windy, we were blessed with a gorgeous day on Saturday and spent the morning and afternoon at the beach, playing and swimming in the waves, digging in the sand and building sandcastles or dragons (way to go Uncle Judah!), flying kites and playing bocce ball.
Zoë LOVES the beach. As someone who has always been enamored by the crashing waves and the feeling of walking barefoot along the shore, it brought me great joy to watch my daughter squeal in delight as she walked in the sand toward the big white waves felt the ocean water wash over her feet. I wish we could have truly captured the moment - it was pure bliss! I have never seen her so happy, and she probably would have stayed there forever if we had not carried her away! :)
Jumpin' waves with mommy - my favorite thing to do at the beach
What a beach babe :)
Building sandcastles with Lola, Wesley and Anna
And digging with Adon
Zoë decided to join the bocce ball game - and even picked the bocce ball up!
Those things are heavy!! I see a future body builder in that squat :P
"Ahh...this ball is more my size"

Thanks Farner fam for a wonderful campout! We're already looking forward to next year :)
